Babymoon

Babymoon

For those of you that don't know, a "Babymoon" is the trendy new thing that couples should do before their lives are turned upside down by the addition of their first child.  It is typically supposed to be a romantic, private get away that highlights the freedom of still being a child-free couple.  Our OB-Gyn was insistent that we make sure to schedule a trip.

The challenge with scheduling a fancy trip while a baby is on the way is that we have been trying to save money in preparation for this major change in our lives.  Heath and I therefore decided to keep our trip simple and ended up spending a long weekend in the mountains of North Carolina.

We stayed in a beautiful home on Lake Santeetlah over Halloween weekend.  We got to experience an early season snowfall, making for a very beautiful mix of leaves changing colors with a dusting of snow.

Off on a beautiful hike...

There was a crazy number of kayakers out on these rapids this very cold day!

We celebrated "us" with a 4 course delicious meal at Snowbird lodge.  Heath got to treat himself to some Rip Van Winkle which he absolutely loved and made me quite jealous that I couldn't partake.

The Final morning was a gorgeous one

Mr & Mrs Gray

For those of you that attended our wedding you will remember our friend Sarah Luke.  She was the wonderful lady in charge of making me look so beautiful that special day!

Heath and I got the chance to help the stunning bride, Sarah, celebrate her wedding on September 26, 2014 in Dahlonega, GA at a stunning winery setting.

Congrats and all of our love to a dear friend as she embarks on one of life's greatest journeys!

THE Garth Brooks in Concert

Some friends offered Heath and I tickets to the Garth Brooks concert in Atlanta this past September.  Heath has seen Garth in concert at least 2 times back in the 90s but I never have.  I didn't really care if we went or not but after going I am SO, SO glad that we did. It was a total bucket list experience!

First of all, Garth still absolutely rocked it despite being his 5th performance in only 3 days.

Secondly, I had not realized just how much Garth's music had been the soundtrack of my teenage years.  He was also my first introduction to country music.  Almost every song Garth played had me reminded of a different high school moment.  It also made me reflect on what a journey my life has been on to land in Georgia, married to a true Southern gentleman, expecting our first baby together!

Thirdly, this was also around the time that I first started feeling the baby move and could tell that he/she was enjoying the music and dancing as much as I was!
